The first collection of the creative director Casey Cadwallader, which he was dreaming about for six years, presents original, sensual, and ultra-sexy models.
The designer previously developed footwear for the brand's runway shows and collaborated with Jimmy Choo to create a capsule collection. He notes that working on this project gave him the necessary experience and confidence to launch his own footwear line, as it was very important to him that the shoes were comfortable to wear, of high quality, and reflected the brand's signature style.
Exploring sharp architectural lines and signature textures, the collection follows the codes of Mugler’s prêt-à-porter classics.
The series, created in Italy, features a sculptural chrome metal ‘fang’ heel, with a slightly flared, pointed, and angular stiletto heel providing greater stability and giving the shoes a futuristic look. The heel is available in two height options: 95 mm and 55 mm. All models end with a sharp, conical tip, which also gives the shoes a brand character.
"Shoes are one of my favorite things to work on. There are so many parts that must come together to make it perfect," said Cadwallader. "I often think of shoes as weapons. I’ve made a lot of shoes in the past for shows that’ve had really strong pointed metal toes and things that felt very dangerous. And so, I wanted a bit of that feeling. But to make it only a weapon to the outside, but actually very nice to yourself."
