The Atkinsons brand was founded by James Atkinson, who was later joined by his brother Edward Atkinson. James Atkinson came to London from the far north of England with detailed recipes for the scents he had come up with, as well as bear fat balm and a real bear. Today, the brand is known for offering an unconventional alternative to the traditions of British perfumery for both men and women.
